Knitting & Stitching - WOYWW 344

Working space for me is limited at the moment because we are having the conservatory roof replaced and all that art stuff had to go elsewhere. My men arrived whilst it was still dark but at least I was dressed. So at the moment I am finishing off the 'necklace ' I started last week. As you can see this is not going to be in anyway subtle but it is using up oddments of wool which I now have knitted into one long tube. Just a few more bindings and then knit the 'cuff' in yellow I think and a couple of buttons. I will post the finished result - it's looking a bit snake like at the moment.

So here is my view of the work outside in progress - please no more rain!

Now gonna have a whizz round other workdesks to see what's in progress. If you want to join in click here

  3. Oh no, I would hate to have the same thing happen - most of my art stuff is in the conservatory! Hopefully, it's all back to normal soon. On a positive note, it's a chance for you to sort your things as you put them back. Love the knitted necklace - I don't think I've seen one before! There are a lot of firsts on your blog - like that knitted dissected rat thingy I remember seeing, LOL! Happy WOYWW Jackie! zsuzsa #39

  6. Oooh that necklace made me think of the "bobbin knitting" I used to enjoy as a child. I think when I've used all the lace off my wooden bobbin, I will make a knitting bobbin for my granddaughter to learn on.
I saw the super storage in Tiger too, and have promised myself that when I've finished decluttering my stash I will invest in some

  9. Great necklace - fun colours. Hope all has gone well for the roof - is it finished now? It has been dry and sunny here all day, so trust it has for your workmen too.
    Take care. God bless.

    1. The roof is off but it has to have new supports and such so not finished until the end of the week :( At least it was dry today but I hope it's not windy tonight or the tarpaulin may blow off.

  10. I'm hoping for no wind for you! The necklace looks like a great way to use up all those odds

  11. Hi Jackie
I had a zoom in on the pic of your necklace, it's really unusual. I'm going to show it my knitting friends.

    1. Finished the necklace. Will blog it tomorrow - as for the roof the tarpaulin leaked with rain and wind last night. Hope it dries up enough to put roof on today.

  12. Ah I definitely recall bobbin knitting as a child - it reminds me of that (though obviously much better!). I love the different colours and textures you've got there. Happy crafting, Max #46 :-)

  14. I had planned to visit sooner, but right after I linked to Julia, my electricity went off. It came back on a short time ago, so now I'm trying to catch up with everyone. Sounds like you are in a similar quandary with rain, high winds, and workmen visiting early in the morning.

That's a bold necklace, and hard to believe it came from scraps. Happy WOYWW on Thursday from #1.
