The table will be clear for most of today because I am rag rugging again today at crunch but this time using crisp wrappers for some ornaments for the tree. So far on this one I have used the empty packet for the 6 pack of cheddars which has a silver backing unlike the individual ones. I am now adding the Hula Hoops - it takes a while to collect wrappers because I don't eat that many crisps. Just a tip if you want to have a go - no strong flavours like cheese and onion. I have done this with children and crochet hooks.

I finished my giant crochet rug - it only took a couple of nights watching TV but took up a lot of fabric. The pink rows were done from an adult full length coat (mum-in-law didn't want it anymore - honest)

Well Jackie, you always show us something completely different each week but today's project really takes the biscuit...or crisps!! What a great idea and the result is so clever..I hope the Crunch people enjoy the task. And I love the big rug too, bet you had to use a huge hook for that!

12 inch hook and the rug is now in my bedroom which says a lot for my colour scheme
ReplyDeleteMorning Jackie. Well, I read your post and was going to write "Now that really takes the biscuit"> Scrolled down and found Jan had beaten me to it! I don't think I have ever seen anything like rag-rugging with crisp packets. Well done on the rug for your room.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Happy WOYWW. What a clever idea and so effective. Hubby eats lots of crisps, so perhaps I should save the wrappers! Fantastic rug. Ali x #31
ReplyDeleteI have come to expect you to do unusual projects Jackie, but I would have never thought of using crisp packets! Whatever next!? Loving your chunky rug too. It must be quite heavy which is good for rugs so they don't get kicked around easily. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #28
ReplyDeleteRag rugging with crisp packets - now that's something completely different, Jackie. It's a great idea and very effective. I'm trying to visualise a 12" hook - it must be massive. And recycling your MIL's coat is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW and have a wonderful week.

Hi Jackie, what an ace idea! Love it. I know, I've had a couple of PET scans in the past- again, they inject you with radioactive dye, and yes you are slightly radioactive for about 24 hours! I feel like I should be glowing in the dark by now!Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx
ReplyDeletewow, who knew crisp packets could be so useful! Love the rug too. Helen #3

Looks fab, love the tip about cheese and onion, it repeats even in the foil! I really like the colour way you've achieved, and the rug is fab...I think if you're telling the truth, your Mother in Law will be quite pleased that she donated her coat!
ReplyDeleteWonderful way to recycle! I've heard of making ornaments with soda cans, but never punching with wrappers! ❤️ Have a great week! ~Heather~ #47
ReplyDeleteWell that's a good way to recycle the empty packets and a good excuse for eating them Lol! Thank you for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x 14
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie,
ReplyDeleteWow, I like your quote underneath your photo - you really don't throw things away! It's great that you recycle things into your projects! Maybe you should have friends and family eat those (crackers?) and save the wrappers for you!
Happy WOYWW
Peace,

WoW...your rug is great and what you are doing with the wrappers boggles the mind...such a wonderful idea!
