Got the machine back out to finish off the cushion cover - this is the back. The backing is an old pillowcase (light pink) and turban muslin in a darker pink. The front if made from crochet squares (I'ts not really my forte) knocked up from some left over wool given to me by sister-in-law. To make it slightly different I have free-machined on top of the pattern to emphasise it and give a more sculptured look. I have added some old fabric covered buttons and just a bit of hand embroidery needed now to finish off the front and voilà another creation without buying anything.

If you read my blog you will know that last week I made another cushion from the stash and here it is finished. I liked using the front bit of the cardigan and buttons for the back enclosure - too pretty not to.Jackie

Morning Jackie. Well done. Those cushions are lovely. I thought you said crochet wasn't your forte??? Those squares are great - glorious colours.

Thanks for the visit to my desk and airships... I love your cushions. I can do many things, but knitting, sewing and crochet are not on that list... I do admire your handy work though.

Lovely work - you really are a clever gal! I love the crochet squares, such a pretty colour combo, and I think the back of last week's cushion is just lovely, what a fantastic idea and the actual finished cushion is going to look stunning where ever you put it.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week and thank you so much for your visit,

Hi Jackie your cushions are gorgeous and I love the buttoned closure too. Thank you for the lovely comments over at mine. Happy woyww, Angela x 15
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous cushions and lovely crochet too. I think I have forgotten how to do it now as it is such a long time since I picked a hook up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog - no hardship in drawing with Chloe, give her a pencil and paper and she is a happy bunny.

Just beautiful. My favorite is the pillow. I love all the different colors.

Super cushions, love the granny squares but the cardi closure has to be the best! Don't worry Candy Crush was downloaded on my tablet some time ago but not my thing really, so I deleted it. Although I do love my Pyramid Saga. I think games on my phone would just be too small really, I'll stick to the tablet for that. Thanks for visiting me BJ#24
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated WOYWW. I love both the cushions. The colours of the crocheted one are particularly gorgeous. I think I will attempt to make some cushions from stash - got a couple of spare cushion pads in the airing cupboard. Ali x #37
ReplyDeleteWow look at all that sewing and LOVE the granny squares and your little flower on your purse so adorable :)

These look fantastic, Jackie! I wish I could just "knock up" those crochet squares - you make it sound so easy! Thanks for visiting last Wednesday. It's taken me almost a week to get back to you, but here I am! Hope to catch you again this week! zsuzsa #21
