Cat Tissue Boxes - WOYWW 370

The last time I made these covers for tissues was over 25 years ago when I made loads for a charity Edwards Trust which was set up following the death of my friend's son from cancer. Of course the pattern has long since gone so I had to work out another using one I had made for mum-in-law. My first mistake was using the fabric from an old table runner left by my daughter before she emigrated to Australia - it disintegrates when you touch it (not ideal when you have to re-cut to adjust the size).

Anyway I seem to have cracked the pattern now so I am doing a couple more for gifts using bedroom curtain off-cuts this time and I even still had eyes and pompoms in the stash. The orange one is the new one and the other I made all those years ago from fabric samples given to me by a local decorating shop - I've always recycled.

It will be Crunch at The Core, Solihull later on so I will have to think of something to take along when I've finished these - we have been given permission to sell our crafts whilst there on a Wednesday starting from next week we will be working out what we've got and pricing it.

  1. I really love the cat tissue boxes....such a cute idea. I may borrow the idea for the next charity craft stall I fill....as long as you don't mind.

    1. Fine by me - I did mine from a pattern about 30 years ago so it's not an original idea

  6. Oh these are fun - I love the expressions on their faces! And your visit to my desk has just taken me down memory lane, with you mentioning night scented stock - my mum also used to have loads of it just outside the back door and the scent was heavenly - I'd almost forgotten about that!
Hope you have a great week,

  7. Oh Jackie these are brilliant, love them to bits. You mentioned you liked the colours of my buttons which probably means you are going to hate me because they are not going to stay that colour for long! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 16
