Wallpaper Bags - WOYWW 364

Today I've been sorting the stuff to take to demonstrate gift bag making using wallpaper. There are some really nice wallpapers about at the moment and I just had to take some test samples to try at home. You can see how to make these from the Crafty Beggars video (2 minutes in) I have made some cords from threads I have (hence the drill with a hook) or they are recycled ones.

The flower wall - hanging I showed in my blog (link here) is finished and we took it to the Gallery on Friday for the official opening by the mayor of the Core Theatre. The mayoress was incredibly impressed. It took me and my mate Steph ages deciding on it's final configuration but in the end we decided to mount with a frame - donated from my stash. All the ladies who made flowers haven't seen it yet but it will be put up properly in a couple of weeks - I had to grab a bit of wall on the day and re-figure a bit of metal on the wall with duck tape.

Off to do some desk-hopping now with a coffee and if you want to join in follow the link  for the WOYWW 7th anniversary.

  2. That sounds like a great idea - I have left over wall paper rolls in my loft going back to the 70's - it must be in fashion again by now! I shall be checking out the tutorial, many thanks for the link. The flowers are beautiful - what a spectacular display, and such a lot of work gone into them all, your ladies must be very proud of themselves.
Thank you so much for stopping by earlier, I hope you have a great week,

  10. Super wall hanging, scrumptious colours. What a great idea to use wallpaper to make bags too. As for my bee ATCs I only had the 2 bees in my stash and no idea where they came from so unable to replicate my design. I love bees though. Thanks for visiting me and Happy WOYWW 7th Anniversary BJ#20

  18. I would have been by sooner, but not long after I linked at Jan's, thunderstorms knocked my power out. To make matters worse, my internet is having a meltdown, and I have to reboot after nearly every person I visit. But I still hope to visit everyone this weekend.

Your wallpaper bags sound wonderful. We can no longer get the anaglyptus wallpaper here in the states. We used to get free samples, but they stopped giving them away. I suspect it's because they found out we were making art with them. Love the floral hanging. It is awesome. Happy 7th WOYWW Anniversary from # 5.
